Robert Langdon is well known as a literary character, but he was also famously portrayed by Tom Hanks in the movie adaptations The Da Vinci Code (2006), Angels and Demons (2009), and Inferno (2016). Since then, Langdon has been the focus of three more books: The Lost Symbol (2009), Inferno (2013), and Origin (2017). Then, in the wildly-successful 2003 follow-up The Da Vinci Code, the character becomes immersed in a conspiracy involving The Holy Grail and Mary Magdalene. Robert Langdon first appeared in the 2000 novel Angels & Demons, in which he investigates the Illuminati. The Langdon pilot was originally produced for network TV, but will now debut on the streaming service Peacock instead.
